Halestorm/ Bloodywood / Kelsy Karter and the Heroines

As the sun set the line of eager and excited fans waited for the doors to open. Chats and sharing each other’s stories of how Halestorm has been spiritually uplifting and sparking inspiration for woman claiming their power. While confessing Lzzy is the is the common girl crush. But not for her brown eyes, long legs and red lips. The intricate ways she captivates and infuses your mind with these ideas of how amazing we all are. Her mind, and her platform of sharing her powerful voice and undeniable self empowerment mantras that fill our broken hearts like gold filling a broken vase. Creating something even more beautiful when broken. And something all the woman agree on from Alaska to Glasgow.

As the doors opened the warnings of no running were given but alas the race to rail begins and we lined up eager to fill our souls’ cups with the gospel of Rock & Roll.

The venue fills with a slow pour , as the opening act comes out. White roses placed along the stage and the bendy straw of microphone stands placed in center takes life as bass , guitar and drummer claims their rightful places and the dark-haired beauty trots onto the center spot , fishnets and a body suit and a full figured goddess starts her siren song. Immediately hints of Amy Whitehouse met Yung blood sound echos & shivers the crowd to core with her stories, rasp and bad bitch aura . Kelsy Karter and the Heroines are a real crowd pleaser, not just a teaser. They left the crowd ready for more as India’s heaviest metal band comes out and immediately commanding attention while thanking us for showing up for them to get to be able to share their uniquely edged power sound. Bloodywood from New Delhi advocating for revenge against rapist declaring “there is no room in the world for sexual assault” then performed “Dana Dan" . Circle pits, crowd surfers start swirling as the magic of the rock show starts to elevate to the next level. Horns and heads banged until the white curtain drop and illusionists behind the scenes transforms the stage into the next level .( I spot cannons and tanks and notice a lady opening the valves and think oh nice confetti tanks. )

The surrounding lights set, and the rising of stage lights back lit the stage and the shadows of Joe with his guitar, Lzzy in center also armed with her signature guitar, Josh posed with his mighty bass and the animal himself Arejay center behind his sister on guard in his drumming tower.

“Fallen Star” breaks the ice as the debut song from the latest and greatest record Everest. Immediately the back up choir from the audience joins in and once again Church of Rock & Roll is officially in session.

“I Miss the Misery” and “Love Bites (so do I)” Halestorm classics riled the crowd up before dropping the bombshell and warning anthem “Watch Out!” Hair whipping across the front row was all I could see as Mz Hyde unleashed screams of utmost grit and grace.

Lzzy paid tribute to the big man and one of her idols Ozzy (because with out Ozzy we wouldn’t have Lzzy ) Joe Hottinger guitar god of Halestorm ,unleashed his madness and those strings where singing while he gave nods, and smirks of confidence yet boyish grins at the same time.

“Shiver” also from the latest Everest album preludes the soul capturing “Like A Woman Can”. Lzzy shielded with her guitar and behind her keyboard Pulpit had again teased that the woman had the boys beat and the seductive, bluesy infused ballad with her raspy growls left the audience on the edge of some magical ways. She took the time to pause and remind us today is all we have and if there is someone who you love, share that , “Do it tonight, don’t wait, tell them you love them.” (The wild Alaskan took the shot and told the queen she loves her and got the smiley and dazzling I love you too. )

How will you remember me? The answer is I will remember the kindness, the authentic and brave woman who worked non stop making her dreams a reality while inspiring this generation, and everybody in all walks of life to be proud, to love loud and be unapologetically themselves. I will always remember Lzzy Hale to be a star that shines as bright as the North Star leading those lost back to light.

The tune designed to make the crowd go bonkers and crowd interactive classic that especially gets the ladies rowdy for, “I Get Off” . Lzzy starts with “I get off on you”, then points her microphone out for the crowds turn and returned with “Getting off on me” she takes control “give you what you want" and all together “but nothing is for free” before band jumps and entire venue is once again a full choir.

Lzzy dips off stage returning with cloak and cup and drops ethereal notes , while dropping down on her knees and the North Stars teases “Familiar Taste of Poison”. The grit and grace rings outwards, then dives into the wild side. “Rain Your Blood on Me” stirs the wild side, before Arejay the Animal’s Boom City Solo. This time his goals was to have a drum circle pit going before the rest of electric mayhem returned.

They heat the night up with “Freak Like Me" flames shoot from all around the stage and the entire floor starts to shake because we are all freaks tonight Glasgow!

The upbeat kick ass classics continued with Mz Hyde and “Uncomfortable” before turning into the stage slayers.

They where K I L L I N G! It . The grin and star filled eyes on Lzzy during “K I L L I N G” with her lyrical quickness that octane and opera infused tune made the head bangers go wild . Bleeding into another Everest song “I Gave You Everything”. Posed behind her keyboard podium juggling between her vocals and guitar notes, the growls that shiver and rise the hairs on your neck.

Begging for more they returned, Joe and Lzzy armed with double headed guitars and the fire began. Quiet literally the flames erupted as they shredded through the Into the Wildlife anthem . (Me realizing why so many tanks were placed about) And the end was near as they cheers to each other and everyone with “Here’s to Us” the full house choir sang together and the middle fingers replaced horns chanting “if they give you hell, tell them to FUCK themselves”. Leaving the self titled track “Everest” for last as they reached the peak of the show. Streamers and fire shot out once again as Halestorm took their bow and group photo.

As the chalice of a venue drained , the people where once again recharged and refueled with the high energy from show. Walking away with love and appreciation for themselves and one another.
